TV One Unsung’s Millie Jackson Showcase Reflections

Diva Millie Jackson was UNSUNG on TV One tonight.  I have DVR’d  the segment because I have deadlines happening.  Assured as the stars that align the heavens above I will get in my comfortable spot and take the showcase in with pleasure.  I’ve been a fan of  Diva Jackson since 18 years old.  I was trying to be a fan long before then but my delicate ears were banned and I can respect that. A child should stay in a child’s place. When I was a child I did childish things.  When I wasn’t a child I put away childish things.  I made myself acquainted with Diva Jackson’s music.  Yes I am laughing because I would get snippets here and there as I was growing up due to the fans in my family and entrepreneurs that put me in closer proximity to her music.

The Memory of  A Wife… Classic > home-wreckers press play

Diva Millie Jackson would tour around the United States, frequently making her way to South Carolina where her fan-base was large.  My cousin was running a family-owned nightclub in South Carolina.  They would have Diva Millie Jackson perform often. From small club venues to the famous Apollo to more big venues Millie fans enjoyed when she wasn’t performing on big tv shows and more.   This TOP BILLING at my family’s club would have people travel for miles to see Diva Jackson.  If you are a fan or familiar with her work, many recordings were live and rivaled the studio recordings.  That speaks volumes.

The Soaps… Ultra Classic

Today we have the endless Life COACHES, no special degrees for many of them but they have mass followings.  I find that if you are truly going to be a LIFE COACH you will graduate your following to be more independent of you and gain more followers.  Some type of release.  Millie gave you life lessons that you should have retained and just come back for nostalgia and loyalty of fan-dom. Today you have females on twitter trying to school other females on the STREET LIFE, Life and Love Wins Woes, How to be a boss, How to run game, How to be like the men/boys and sadly how to be a HOE AND WIN. Yea I digress. Sign of  The Times…  heard it all before jargon.  I may be a bit more biased but the schooling by Diva Millie had a better delivery that for the most part made women be more enlightened than destructive to their souls. I have to always ask, Why be like a man when you are a beautiful woman? Why act like Love Changes doesn’t hurt at times when it does?  Just move better in what and whom you let into your life.

Ugly Man… Classic, House For Sale… Classic

Diva Millie Jackson didn’t sugar-coat the life experiences.  Diva Jackson didn’t play upon the do as the man but if you liked what you liked, if how you conducted yourself made others ‘clutch pearls’ live ya life. Live with the choice and consequences.  Millie kept it all diverse she wasn’t on the ‘downers’ all the time and I loved that. She spoke to women from all aspects.  If your conscious wasn’t aroused on whatever role you played by the time the song was over, truly your soul was or is cold.  Millie would rouse your conscious if you were the other woman, main woman, hurt woman, happy woman, bitter woman, straight up woman and more. Millie incorporated men in some of her songs that really help tell the story. Yes, I am a Millie Jackson fan.

Lovers and Girlfriends… Ultra Classic

Delivery…  Diva Jackson aced her delivery all the time, always with a message. When the mood is right with myself or my besties, we listen to Diva Millie Jackson and enjoy.  Props to her bands over the years. Those musicians beasted and as a former performing musician when I say beasted yes they did. I’ve known many EXHALE parties that had Millie playing in heavy rotation.  Thank you TV One Unsung for giving more people exposure to a legend who really ‘Spoke To The Conscious’.  I shall enjoy this UNSUNG MOMENT to the fullest.
